“Dahshur” is one of the tourist areas that, due to its many great Pharaonic temples, tourists from all over the world flock to. The rocky plateau of Dahshur was chosen by the Egyptian pharaoh Senefru to build a tomb for him, comparable to that of his ancestor, Pharaoh Zoser, the owner of the Saqqara pyramid.

Dahshur is situated about 40 kilometres southwest of Cairo and one of the unique things to do in Cairo is the daily Cairo Day Tours, at the southern end of the large pyramid field that starts at Giza, which is not heavily pressurised. Excavations at Dahshur showed us the remains of seven pyramids as well as the tomb complexes constructed from Memphis until the 13th Dynasty in the Middle Kingdom for queens and nobility.

The last two pyramids built in Dahshur were ultimately demolished by the ravages of time, such as the badly damaged Black Pyramid (12th Dynasty).

Dahshur is the homeland of two of the best-preserved pyramids in Egypt. The Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid at Dahshur, both of them constructed during the reign of King Sneferu, founder of the 4th Dynasty, are considered massive evidence of the architectural progress that eventually led to the building of King Cheops’s Great Pyramid and the pyramids of his brief successors at Giza.

The Bent Pyramid is the first of the Dahshur pyramids to be constructed under King Sneferu, the first attempt to construct a smooth-sided pyramid from ancient Egypt, But miscalculations occurred in the distribution of the cut rocks causing the angle of the pyramid not to be right, and that’s why it’s called “The Bent Pyramid,” the King who immediately began another ambitious scheme never used this pyramid.

Not only can you spend your time taking pictures when you visit Dahshur, tourists will have access to the two remaining burials of King Senfru, the Red and the Bent Pyramid.

King Sneferu ordered Dahshur’s second pyramid to be installed, and the Red Pyramid learned from its mistakes. The pyramid was considered a success once completed, as it was a completely built, smooth hand, rising to a height (104 meters). The name of the Red Pyramid derives from its red limestone. It is believed to be King Sneferu’s resting spot.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the world, was constructed for us immediately after the death of King Sneferu by his son Khufutowas, the third pyramid of his own legacy.

Several tombs of royal women were found near the 12th Dynasty pyramid with a significant amount of jewellery (the highest stage of metalworking in Egypt during this time period). The Senusret III pyramid, with smaller pyramids of royal women. Around Dahshur’s pyramids, large cemeteries of officials of the Old Kingdom and the Middle Kingdom have been discovered. The royal necropolis of Egypt during the reign of King Amenemhat II of the 12th Dynasty was Dasher.
